Notes
Fumewort (Corydalis elata) is a perennial for borders, containers, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Blue blooms smell like gardenia mixed with coconut, and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It stays evergreen and does not go dormant in summer.
Pairs well with Fringed bleeding heart, Lenten rose, and Lady fern.
