Notes

'Gay Cavalier' peony (Paeonia 'Gay Cavalier') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears single, fragrant, scarlet red blooms that attract bees and butterflies. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Lyman D. Glasscock bred it from Albiflora and Officinalis parents.

Pairs well with Blue Angel hosta, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
