Notes

'Gay Dragon' peony (Paeonia 'Gay Dragon') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Its Japanese type blooms are a rich, lively red with red staminodes edged ecru. The flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees.

Pairs well with Empress Wu hosta, Paprika yarrow, and Switchgrass.
