Notes

'Gay May' peony (Paeonia 'Gay May') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows up to 35 inches tall and bears fragrant, pale salmon pink flowers that attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Pale purple coneflower, Autumn Frost hosta, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
