Notes

'Gay Sue' camellia (Camellia sasanqua 'Gay Sue') is a shrub for hedges, privacy screens, accents, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Fragrant flowers open in autumn and again in winter, and bees and birds visit the plant. It sits low on the menu for deer. The evergreen shrub grows fast with an arching habit.

Pairs well with Strawberry tree, Society garlic, and False indigo.
