Notes

'Georgette' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Georgette') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese type flowers open in mid to late spring and are white with mauve shading, then age to light pink. The plant is large and spreading, and it holds its flowers well above the foliage. Wettengel bred it in 1924.

Pairs well with American Gold Rush black-eyed Susan, Prairie dropseed, Black Hero tulip, and Fragrant sumac.
