Notes

German garlic (Allium senescens) is a bulb for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens, and it also naturalizes well. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Pale pink to purple flowers open from early to late summer. They are fragrant and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Spotted beebalm, and Blue grama.
