Notes

'Germantown' peony (Paeonia 'Germantown') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It forms a sturdy bush with large, fragrant, red single flowers that butterflies and bees visit. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Golden Tiara hosta, Clustered bellflower, and Blue grama.
