Notes

'Gertrude Allen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Gertrude Allen') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. White guard petals flare straight out in early summer and make a flat flower 9-10 inches across. Lacy yellow petalodes fill the center, and the stems are stiff and strong.

Pairs well with Monkshood, Black Hero tulip, and Shrub rose.
