Notes
'Glorious Guard' peony (Paeonia 'Glorious Guard') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Early to midseason blooms are single, raspberry-red, and face upward. The upright plants need no support. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Swenson Gardens bred it in 2018.
Pairs well with Blue Mouse Ears hosta, Dense blazing star, and Switchgrass.
