Notes

'Gold Standard' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Gold Standard') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, Japanese type flowers have two rows of white petals tinted yellow. A center of golden petaloids fills the middle. They open in early summer on tall, straight stems.

Pairs well with Miss Kim lilac, Royal fern, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Invincibelle Ruby smooth hydrangea.
