Notes
Golden canna (Canna flaccida) is a perennial for pollinator gardens and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its showy yellow flowers have faint speckles, and skipper caterpillars use it as a host plant. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. A frost or freeze cuts the plant back to the roots.
Pairs well with Pickerel weed, Southern blue flag, and Lamp rush.
