Notes

'Purpurea' Indian shot (Canna indica 'Purpurea') is a perennial for borders, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It grows in a clump and blooms in summer and again in autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Tawny King red-hot poker, Purple moor grass, and Walther Funcke yarrow.
