Notes

'Golden State' rose (Rosa 'Golden State') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, cut flowers, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. The deep yellow blooms are fragrant, attract bees, and open in late spring, summer, and early autumn. Francis Meilland bred it in 1937, and the stems carry thorns, so wear gloves when you prune.

Pairs well with Blazing star, False indigo, and Blue fescue.
