Notes

'Golden State' zinnia (Zinnia elegans 'Golden State') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is not cold-hardy and will not survive freezing temperatures. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows fast to 24 to 36 inches tall and handles dry spells well. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Snapdragon, Spider flower, and First Knight fountain grass.
