Notes
'Good News' peony (Paeonia 'Good News') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Edward Auten, Jr bred it in 1946, and the single orange-red blooms have golden-yellow centers and a sweet scent. Bees and butterflies visit the flowers. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.
Pairs well with Stained Glass hosta, Creeping phlox, Blue grama, and Stargazer lily.
