Notes

'Grand Opening' peony (Paeonia 'Grand Opening') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Large, fragrant, semi-double pink blossoms have red flares and cupped, crinkled petals in early to late spring. Harold Entsminger bred it. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with False indigo, Queen of Night tulip, and Jackmanii clematis.
