Notes

'Grape Escape' wild indigo (Baptisia 'Grape Escape') is a perennial. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry soil. Long purple flower spikes with cream keels open in early to late summer and attract bees. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It dislikes being moved once established, so choose its spot with care.

Pairs well with Purple milkweed, Autumn Fire sedum, and Purple lovegrass.
