Notes
'Lunar Eclipse' wild indigo (Baptisia 'Lunar Eclipse') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Spires of creamy white flowers turn lavender-blue with age, and black seed pods follow. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the blooms. Plan its spot with care, because it dislikes being moved once established.
Pairs well with New England aster, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Bowl of Beauty peony.
