Notes

'Lemon Meringue' wild indigo (Baptisia 'Lemon Meringue') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Bright yellow flowers open in spring and again in summer, and they attract butterflies and bees. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Standing Ovation little bluestem, Ironweed, and Purple Prince zinnia.
