Notes
'Great Lady' peony (Paeonia 'Great Lady') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its large, loftily held blooms are China pink and fragrant, and bees and butterflies visit them. Saunders bred it in 1943. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Royal Standard hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Pink Impression tulip.
