Notes

'Royal Standard' hosta (Hosta 'Royal Standard') is a perennial for borders, shade gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. The white flowers are fragrant and attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Give it room to spread, since it can reach 60 inches wide.

Pairs well with Eastern columbine, Sedge, and Paula Fay peony.
