Notes

'Great Northern' peony (Paeonia 'Great Northern') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, light yellow flowers are semi-double to double and reach about 6 inches across. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Creeping phlox, Switchgrass, and Picture tulip.
