Notes

'Great Sport' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Great Sport') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant flowers are cherry-red with a rose-red center. They have a Japanese form, with a saucer of rose petaloids edged and tipped in gold. Kelway bred it, and it grows up to 35 inches tall.

Pairs well with Stargazer lily, Dalmatian bellflower, and Love-in-a-mist.
