Notes

'Green Mound' alpine currant (Ribes alpinum 'Green Mound') is a shrub for borders, hedges, foundation plantings, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It forms a dense mound that grows 24 to 36 inches tall and wide. Greenish-yellow flowers open in mid spring and attract butterflies and birds.

Pairs well with Blue Moon honeyberry, Red fescue, Rosea lily of the valley, and Degroot's Spire American arborvitae.
