Notes

'Greta' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Greta') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It forms a dense, bushy mound about 33 inches tall and carries many large, semi-double flowers. The dark red blooms have purple shading and an open center where the stamens form a ball. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Cheerfulness daffodil, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Flamingo Feather celosia.
