'Gretchen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Gretchen') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It stays short, reaching up to 31 inches tall. In early summer it bears double white flowers tinted with flesh pink. Max Josef Goos bred it.

Pairs well with New England aster, Sedge, and Sensitive fern.
