Notes

'H.A. Hagen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'H.A. Hagen') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, double flowers are dark rose-pink and have an excellent fragrance. Blooms open in late spring on stout stems of medium height. The outer petals relax with age but keep their incurved cup form.

Pairs well with Lilac, Prairie dropseed, Black Hero tulip, and Wild ginger.
