Hair wild garlic

Garden uses

Notes

'Hair' wild garlic (Allium vineale 'Hair') is a vegetable for the food garden. It is typically grown as an annual. Few crops handle cold as well, and with a little winter protection it grows on through light freezes. This plant likes full or part sun. It is an oddball ornamental onion with purple-red clusters of little yellow flowers and long, green, hair-like extensions. The burgundy blooms open in early to late spring.

Pairs well with Lettuce, Lovage, and Holy basil.
