Notes

'Hakusyu' rose (Rosa 'Hakusyu') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. The upright canes reach about 59 to 79 inches tall and carry fragrant white blooms. Flowers open in late spring, again in early to late summer, and once more in early autumn. Hironaka Ōtsuki bred it in 1999, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Bartzella peony, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Fragrant Bouquet hosta, and Arrowwood viburnum.
