Notes

'Happy Day' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Happy Day') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The round, full blooms are deep pink with lilac shading, a white center, and crimson flecks. They are fragrant and open in early summer. George Hollis bred it in 1907.

Pairs well with Smooth aster, Royal fern, and Phantom panicle hydrangea.
