Notes

Hardy begonia (Begonia grandis) is a perennial for borders, shade gardens, woodland settings, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy or clay soil. It grows in a clump with green leaves that have red and burgundy tones. Pink flowers open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and bees visit them.

Pairs well with Wild ginger, Japanese forest grass, and Cardinal flower.
