Notes
'Heron’s Pirouette' hardy begonia (Begonia grandis 'Heron’s Pirouette') is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland gardens, borders, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It forms a clumping mound 12 to 24 inches tall. Bees visit the blooms in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn.
Pairs well with Siebold's hosta, Japanese forest grass, and Lenten rose.
