Notes

'Harrow Sweet' pear (Pyrus communis 'Harrow Sweet') is a fruit tree grown for fresh eating, cooking, and a border planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Plant a second pear nearby, since this one is not self-fertile. The white spring flowers are fragrant and attract bees and butterflies. Fruit ripens in mid season and keeps for 1 to 2 months.

Pairs well with Ruby Star coneflower, Bowman's root, Black raspberry, and Virginia strawberry.
