Notes

'Hazel Dolence' peony (Paeonia 'Hazel Dolence') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, full double blooms are dark pink with a rose center. The stems are good and sturdy, and bees and butterflies visit the flowers. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Dancing Queen hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Nodding onion.
