Notes
'Heavenly Mansion' peony (Paeonia 'Heavenly Mansion') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The rose-red double flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The upright plants reach 24 to 26 inches tall.
Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Woolly yarrow.
