'Hellen Savisaar' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Hellen Savisaar') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant purplish flowers face upward and open in mid to late spring. The spreading plants reach about 95 cm (34”) tall, so give them support.
Pairs well with Sensitive fern, Charles Joly lilac, Carlton daffodil, and Foxtail barley.
