Notes

'Herald' snow crocus (Crocus chrysanthus 'Herald') is a bulb for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and most soil types. The yellow flowers open in late winter to spring, and bees visit them. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Plant the bulbs in groups for a bright show.

Pairs well with Common snowdrop, Lenten rose, and Sensitive fern.
