Notes

Snow crocus (Crocus chrysanthus) is a bulb for naturalized plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. It grows only 3 to 6 inches tall and spreads the same width. The yellow-orange flowers open in mid winter to early spring, so they bring color when little else is blooming.

Pairs well with Spanish bluebell, Black Hero tulip, Sedge, and Royal fern.

Native range

Southeastern Europe and Turkey.
