Notes

'Heritage' peony (Paeonia 'Heritage') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its fragrant, crimson red double flowers look like rose bombs and attract butterflies and bees. Saunders bred it in 1950. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Eastern columbine, Guacamole hosta, and Prairie dropseed.
