Notes

'Herkules' peony (Paeonia 'Herkules') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Butterflies and bees visit the fragrant, rose-red blooms. Gorobets bred it, and the large double flowers make good cut stems.

Pairs well with Earth Angel hosta, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Incrediball Storm Proof smooth hydrangea.
