Notes

'Hi-Mabel' peony (Paeonia 'Hi-Mabel') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double, bright pink blooms have a rose center and a sweet scent that bees and butterflies visit. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. William S. Bockstoce bred it, and it grows up to 43 inches tall.

Pairs well with June hosta, Spiked speedwell, Stargazer lily, and Switchgrass.
