Notes

'High Jinks' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'High Jinks') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Tall stems carry deep cerise red flowers in late spring. The Japanese type blooms have narrow center petaloids that shade to white. Edward Auten, Jr bred it.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Cinnamon fern, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
