Notes
'Himalayan Select' flame lily (Gloriosa superba 'Himalayan Select') is a climbing bulb for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The bright, fiery red flowers have twisted tepals and a lemon-yellow base. Keep the soil dry during dormancy, and try a spot under the overhang of the house.
Pairs well with Society garlic, Tuberose, Wallflower, and Jasmine.
