Notes
'Rothschildiana' flame lily (Gloriosa superba 'Rothschildiana') is a climbing bulb for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. The bright red petals are rippled and have golden yellow bases. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. In a pot, keep it dry and frost-free over winter.
Pairs well with Bishop of Llandaff dahlia, Lemongrass, and Century plant.
