Notes
Hobblebush (Viburnum lantanoides) is a shrub for specimen planting, hedges, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy or loamy soil. Its arching outer branches bend down and root where they touch the ground, so give it room. Lacy white flower clusters contrast with green leaves, and the berries change from red to blue. It sits low on the menu for deer.
Pairs well with Royal fern, White trillium, Pagoda dogwood, and Christmas fern.
