Notes

'Humei carnea' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Humei carnea') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double flowers are pink with a light pink center and age to light pink. They are fragrant, so they make a nice cut flower. Modeste Guérin bred it.

Pairs well with Siberian iris, New England aster, Annabelle hydrangea, and Queen of Night tulip.
