Notes
'Ice Cream' Japanese iris (Iris ensata 'Ice Cream') is a perennial for damp borders, pond edges, and stream edges. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. Its periwinkle-blue flowers have white margins, can reach 8 inches wide, and bloom from early to late summer. Rabbits tend to nibble other plants first. The green leaves stand upright like a Siberian iris.
Pairs well with Bowl of Cream peony, Orange lily, and Grape hyacinth.
