Notes

'Ice Queen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Ice Queen') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its fragrant, purplish-black red double blooms open in early to mid spring. The upright plants reach about 38 inches tall and do not need support.

Pairs well with Anise hyssop, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Cinnamon fern.
