Notes
'Illinois Psalm' peony (Paeonia 'Illinois Psalm') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. The cream, fragrant blooms are semi-double and attract bees and butterflies, and strong stems reach about 33 inches tall.
Pairs well with August Moon hosta, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Pink Impression tulip.
